This €2.9 million project is supporting the Algerian Ministry for Participation and the Promotion of Investments (MPPI) and Algerian enterprises in the privatisation of state owned enterprises, concentrating on the following sectors:
- Cable-making
- Smelting
- Sanitary and public hygiene products
- Production and distribution of paintings
- Detergent and cleaning products manufacturing
- Public works
- Electrical household appliances
- Batteries
- TV, hi-fi, audio and electrical component manufacturing
Working as apart of an international consortium WYGI is assisting the privatisation process by providing:
- Strategic analyses of the enterprises concerned, looking at both internal and external influencing factors, and covering:
- The environment in which the companies are operating
- The prospects for privatization
- Competitiveness (from market, technological and trading points of view)
- The condition of production equipment (looking at processes, plant and equipment and maintenance regimes)
- The quality of workforces (production personnel and management)
- Process management (provisioning, production, marketing)
- The relationship between the existing means and strategic objectives
- Elaboration of diagnostics for the companies or similar economic entities
- The formulation of privatisation scenarios and agreement on privatisation strategy
- Preparation of the business plan according to the strategy agreed
- Assistance on the valuation of the company
- Search and identification of potential partners and investors
- Assistance in the preparation of invitations to tender and of all associated reports and documents required for the negotiations
- Assistance in the preparation of contractual documents and share issues
- Assistance in the negotiation with partners on raising of capital, in particular assistance in the drawing up of cost registers and evaluation of offers
