WYG International are managing this regional development project with the overall objective of contributing to the socio-economic revitalisation of Croatia's war affected areas. WYG International are providing economic planning and project development resources to work with government ministries and other partners. Specific objectives are:
- The effective operation of two Programme Management Units in Sisak-Moslavina County and Vukovar-Srijem County
- The successful implementation of Regional Operational Programmes (ROPs) and individual development projects in each county
- An enhanced capacity for regional development planning and implementation in each county
- Four new Regional Operational Programmes to be developed in Lika-Senj County, Karlovac County, Slavonski Brod-Posavina County
and Pozega-Slavonia County
Under the project WYG International are undertaking a range of actions including the preparation and implementation of projects in line with EC procurement procedures; the development and implementation of plans for the procurement of additional finance for the ROPs - from national, donor and private sources; the implementation of the Regional Operational Programme for Sisačko-moslovačka and Vukovarska-Srjemska counties; the enhancement of the capacity of the Programme Management Unit and other contractors and stakeholders in all aspects of project-cycle management; the regional development process formalised and institutionalised in each county; regional development partnerships established and formalised in each county; Regional Operational Programmes for Sisak-Moslavina and Vukovar-Srijem counties updated (including ex-ante evaluation); four Regional Operational Programmes prepared in Lika-Senj, Karlovac, Slavonski Brod-Posavina and Pozega-Slavonia counties; and a pipeline of projects for the ROPs in Lika-Senj, Karlovac, Slavonski Brod-Posavina and Pozega-Slavonia counties prepared.
