Job Rotation

Assistance to the Ministry of Economy in Implementing the Acquis, Poland

WYG International is leading a consortium under a project funded by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development entitled “Job Rotation”. The project will seek simultaneously both to train company staff in micro, small and medium sized enterprises (the SSME sector) and to supplement the workforces of these enterprises with people registered as unemployed.

The purpose of the project is to modernise and increase competitiveness of companies, while also taking the advantage of the opportunities to place job seekers wishing to obtain job experience in companies.   In summary, therefore, project provides selected members of company staff with free training, lasting at least 2 months, during which period they are temporarily replaced by unemployed job seekers selected by local labour agency. This second component is aimed at enabling job seekers to obtain new, practical job experience, which should significantly help them in further job search.

The project is innovative and in large degree is a pilot scheme, although experience is being applied from projects already implemented in the European Union (with best results in Denmark, Germany and Portugal) and a pilot scheme from Poland, in lodzkie voivodship (Project: “Job Rotation in Lodz Region” implemented in 2003-2004).
