WYG International is the consortium leader in the largest nationwide training project in Poland in the area of human resources development. The project is financed by the European Social Fund and is aimed at helping the Polish economy adapt to European market requirements by becoming a knowledge based economy. The main idea is to promote the competitiveness of Polish companies and the Polish economy by increasing the qualifications of human resources available to companies.
The project has two main target groups: small and medium sized companies in Poland; and training institutions. Low productivity in small and medium sized companies is often the result of inadequate staff management skills and insufficient understanding of the need to invest in developing human resources. For this reason, a wide range of training and advisory services covering key issues of company staff policy are being provided to the final beneficiaries of the project – management staff (owners, chairpersons, directors, managers) and employees responsible for staff issues in companies, including:
- efficient motivation
- team-building
- competence management
- training systems
- supporting individual development
- recruiting and dismissing employees.
The project will create sustainable mechanisms of cooperation between companies and training institutions through seminars for personnel advisors from employer’s associations and organisations. Conferences will be also arranged to promote the idea of investment in staff among training companies, in particular to provide knowledge and skills to identify training needs in small and medium sized companies to prepare and promote attractive training offers, creating and implementing quality training programmes. The Internet Database of Training Offers will provide additional support in achieving the goals of the project as the exchange platform between training institutions presenting their offer and employers interested in improving the qualifications of their staff. The winner of a competition for the best human resources management strategy developed by beneficiaries of training and career counselling will be decided at the end of the project. Education materials promoting good practice in the area of human resources development will be also distributed.
