WYG International led a Tacis programme in support of sustainable development of energy in Turkmenistan, one of the world’s richest countries for gas resources and also with potential for expanded oil production. Of particular interest to Turkmenistan was the use of surplus energy to produce exportable products and so drive economic growth. Potential schemes of this type were compared to pipeline construction for direct export of gas and transmission line construction for export of electricity. |
