| IMC worked for the Expert Institute for the Ministry of Economy on a project for pilot mono-company towns restructuring. Recommendations were made for restructuring of the town-forming enterprises in order to improve their financial and economic performance and for improvement in municipal management. The project identified solutions to the financial, social and economic problems of mono-company towns in Russia.
Five towns were chosen as pilot locations in which ideas were developed and tested. Both current and projected economic situations were modelled in order to establish the value added within the local economy. We provided a range of experts in industrial and municipal management who worked on a “fast-track” with the local enterprises, principally textiles, metallurgy, light manufacturing and municipal authorities to diagnose and improve their respective financial and management positions.
Recommendations for local action in both the enterprises and the municipal authorities were made as well as recommendations for Federal action. |
