This project addressed significant problems in the Polish Labour Market, such as social exclusion, skill gaps and the quality of human resources, with special emphasis on women. The programme assisted the accession process in the field of employment policy by strengthening the administrative capacities of central authorities and local service providers to implement ESF programmes post accession. Specifically, the programme helped promote employability, adaptability, entrepreneurship and equal opportunities.
The project addressed the problem of the re-entry of long-term unemployed women (those without a job for more than 12 months) into the labour market, especially those wishing to return to work after maternity leave. It provided the target group with a range of integrated training and guidance services, developing the professional capabilities of those involved and helping them to obtain new positions in the labour market.
Specific services provided included training courses and job broking services, with all activities tailored to the individual predisposition and expectations of the participants. Particular attention was placed on methodology throughout and implementing a strengthened monitoring/evaluation system in such a way as to achieve enhanced learning and capacity building from the project.
The outcomes of the project included a higher level of employability among women in the areas covered by the project as well as increased public awareness with regards to the importance taking positive actions for women in the labour market in order to be able to offer equal opportunities.
